Crosswinds Family,

As I reflect on ALL that God has done these past 14 years I am overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness. All the major steps along the way have been moments filled with faith and a little fear. Yet, at every intersection, God has faithfully gone with us and before us into each challenge.

When we moved into our current facility just a few short years ago, we never imagined we would need to expand so soon - but God had bigger plans! We have seen an increase in every area of ministry and God continues to expand our vision for reaching our town, our county and around the world. Each step of this journey has been one of faith… Now, we are preparing for the next big step.

When we look back at the faith and obedience of individuals like David, Peter, and most importantly, Jesus we see examples of what it means to believe God for the impossible, trust in His provision, and surrender to His calling. Now, we believe it is our turn to put into action this kind of faith… Faith That Shapes The Future. God has strategically placed Crosswinds Church in a position to impact the Leland area for generations to come.

I am asking that each of you make a commitment to be here every Sunday for the next 6 weeks as we explore what it takes to build a legacy of faith. Now is the time to experience what God can do in us and through us.

Our History

The history of Crosswinds Church is filled with many incredible moments where we had to act in faith and God showed up. From the very beginning until today God has faithfully walked with us through many challenges and we know that He will continue to walk with us through the days to come.

The history of Crosswinds Church is filled with many incredible moments where we had to act in faith and God showed up. From the very beginning until today God has faithfully walked with us through many challenges and we know that He will continue to walk with us through the days to come.

2008

Pastor Chris and Ashley step out in faith by moving their family, along with five other families, to the Leland area in pursuit of the God-given vision to plant Crosswinds Church.

2009

Crosswinds begins formally meeting in a home in the Waterford community. Due to rapid growth, the church took another step of faith and secured a rental space in a nearby storefront.

2016

After 7 years of spiritual and numerical growth, Crosswinds was approached with the opportunity to purchase a parcel of land on nearby Lanvale Road. Trusting in God’s provision, we took yet another step of faith by saying “yes” to this opportunity.

2019

God ultimately rewarded these steps of obedience and we were blessed to move into our current facility in October of 2019. 

2023

God has continued to bless our church with a season of incredible growth and we, once again, are preparing to take a huge step of faith.

What Are We Doing?

We are ready to expand. The surveys are complete, architectural schematics are in-development, and we have begun talks with our local municipalities to ensure a smooth process. Now we must raise $4.6 million over the next two years to fully realize this truly God-sized vision.

Our plans are to build a beautiful new auditorium that can seat over 600 people per service, a new lobby space, as well as offices and administrative areas. We also have plans for a volunteer hub and more outdoor amenities. Also included in our expansion plans is the renovation of our current facility which would then be dedicated to our kid and student ministries.

Why Are We Doing This?

First, we have reached the limitations of our current facility. Our teams work hard with what we have to serve the volume of people that come through our doors each week, but it’s time to create a higher capacity space. We need a better tool to get the job done.

Second, our vision has always been to build a church for generations and our passion remains reaching more people for Christ. How amazing would it be if we could leave a legacy of faith for our friends, family, and community while simultaneously giving a better tool to our children, so they can do even more to accomplish the mission of the Gospel?

DEFINING MOMENTS is a two-year giving initiative to help us reach our God-sized vision to build a church for generations.

This is a defining moment for our church, our families, and our community. Crosswinds has always been a place where families grow in faith and it is not an accident that God has placed us in Leland NC. This initiative will increase our capacity to reach even more people with the Gospel in an ever-growing community. 

What is "Defining Moments"?

DEFINING MOMENTS is a two-year giving initiative to help us reach our God-sized vision to build a church for generations.

This is a defining moment for our church, our families, and our community. Crosswinds has always been a place where families grow in faith and it is not an accident that God has placed us in Leland NC. This initiative will increase our capacity to reach even more people with the Gospel in an ever-growing community. 

Two Main Goals

PRIMARY GOAL

100% ENGAGEMENT

Our goal is for every child, student, and adult who calls Crosswinds home to engage in DEFINING MOMENTS. We cannot accomplish God’s vision for this church without risk and unity. God wants to do something life-changing in all of us through these steps of faith:
  • Embrace the vision
  • Pray for the vision
  • Give to the vision

SECONDARY GOAL

$4.6 MILLION

Our secondary goal is to raise the funds required to continue our current ministry and expand our facility. This goal includes $1.6 million for everything you love about Crosswinds for the next two years and $3 million for expansion and renovation. These are big numbers, but we serve a bigger God. If 100% of the people at Crosswinds become fully engaged in this DEFINING MOMENT, He will provide in ways beyond what we can imagine.

UNIFIED GIVING

During this initiative we encourage every person in our church family to participate in a unified way of giving called a One Fund. Instead of having two or more different funds in which we split up our tithe, building funds, and any other offerings, we will all be asked to prayerfully decide what total amount God is calling us to give, then commit to giving that one amount every month. 

DEFINING MOMENTS is a two-year initiative where all giving strategically resources a unified vision and is directed into ONE fund. The One Fund will resource our ministries and mission for the next two years as well as expanding and renovating our current facility.

  • One Fund unifies our giving and allows new and existing members of all ages to participate
