Mission Statement

Crosswinds Church is an authentic community of believers who live by faith, love our neighbors, pray continuously, unashamedly share the gospel, and give generously - in pursuit of our mission to...

Preach the Word, Make Disciples, and Care for Others.

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

What We Believe

God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Revelation
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Resurrection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

CROSSWINDS POSITIONAL STATEMENTS

Marriage & Sexuality
Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed and sanctioned by God, joining one man and one woman in a lifelong, exclusive union (Genesis 1:27, Matthew 19:4–6). Sexual intimacy is a good gift from God, intended to be enjoyed only within this marriage relationship.

The Bible teaches that any sexual activity outside of this design—including adultery, fornication, pre-marital sex, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography, or any attempt to change or reject one’s biological sex—is outside of God’s will (Romans 1:26–27, 1 Corinthians 6:9–11). As followers of Christ, we are called to faithfulness in marriage and self-control outside of it, trusting that God’s plan for sexuality leads to true flourishing.

At the same time, we affirm that every person, regardless of their struggles or temptations, is deeply loved by God. Temptation itself is not sin, and through Christ, we can find the strength to live in obedience to God’s Word. The Bible also upholds celibacy as a holy and fruitful calling for those who remain unmarried (1 Corinthians 7:7, 32–35).

As cultural views on marriage and sexuality shift, we remain committed to the clear teaching of Scripture and the historic Christian faith. While some seek to reinterpret the Bible to affirm same-sex relationships or fluid gender identities, we hold to the unchanging truth of God’s Word, which calls us to live according to His design.

We believe that redemption and restoration are available to all who turn to Christ, confessing and forsaking sin in pursuit of His grace and forgiveness. Because we represent Christ to the world, we expect that those who serve in our church—whether as staff, members, or volunteers—will uphold this biblical understanding of marriage and sexuality in both belief and practice.

Finally, we affirm that every person, regardless of their background or struggles, must be treated with love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful or harassing behavior is never in line with Scripture or the heart of Christ. As a church, we are called to stand for both truth and love—never compromising God’s Word to appear loving, but also never withholding love in the name of truth. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we trust in God’s promise to help us walk in obedience and to one day restore all things in His perfect kingdom.
Sanctity of Human Life & Abortion
We believe life is a gift from God and must always be considered sacred.
Humans are the crown of God’s creation, made with care and purpose. The Bible says, “‘Let us make man in our image’... So God created man in his own image… male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:26-27). Being created in God’s image gives humans a unique place above all other life on earth. This means that, like God, we are personal and spiritual, capable of reasoning and forming relationships. Every person—without exception—is valued by God and holds a special place in His creation (Psalm 8:5). This value is not based on age, gender, race, religion, health, social status, or potential for achievement. The Bible is clear that human life is sacred: God is the giver of life (Acts 17:25) and the one who determines when it ends (Psalm 104:29). Scripture also firmly upholds the right to life for the innocent (Isaiah 59:7, Jeremiah 22:3).

God’s care for humanity begins even before birth, extending to life in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16, Jeremiah 1:5). Throughout Scripture, the unborn child is consistently regarded as a person under God’s loving care and protection. The Bible teaches that God has plans for each unborn child and that only He fully knows the potential of this new life. It also affirms that God is sovereign over all things, including the quality of life of the unborn.

The Bible emphasizes that God is actively involved in the creation of new life. David beautifully expressed this truth, saying:

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:13–16).

This passage reflects the profound value and intentionality with which God forms each person, affirming the sanctity of life from its earliest stages. Created in God’s image, every human being holds inherent worth that is not dependent on age, ability, or circumstances. From conception to death, every life is a reflection of God’s divine handiwork and must be respected, cared for, and protected. This truth calls us to honor the dignity of all people and to uphold the sacredness of life in every stage and situation.
